Description of the Fish Identification Specialty Course:

The PADI Fish Identification Specialty is a fun and educational one-day course for certified divers who want to understand what they’re seeing on the reef. You’ll learn how to identify common fish families and species, how fish behave, and where to look for them. The course includes a theory session and two ocean dives where you’ll observe and identify local marine life with the help of your instructor.

What to Expect:

• Theory Session – Start the day with a short classroom session at our dive center. You’ll go over fish anatomy, behavior, habitats, and how to use identification tools like slates and fish ID cards.
• 2 Ocean Dives – You will go on two exciting dives, where your instructor will guide you through the reef, helping you identify and observe different fish families and species in their natural habitat.
• Debrief & Certification – After the dives, you will review what you saw with your instructor, complete your logbook with accurate species names, and award you your PADI Fish Identification Specialty Certification.
