Requirements for the Fish Identification Specialty Course:
For this course students must be a minimum 10 years of age and have completed the Open Water Diver certification.
Structure of the PADI Fish Identification Specialty Course:
The PADI Fish Identification Specialty Course offers a structured approach to understanding and recognizing the diverse marine life encountered during dives. To start, students will receive a PADI Fish Identification manual, providing the knowledge needed to participate in this course. The course will begin with an introduction to the importance of fish identification in diving and marine conservation, students will learn about basic fish anatomy, behaviour, and habitat preferences. Through interactive sessions, students will learn about common fish families and species found in the Mexican Caribbean, mastering identification techniques both above and below water. Students will have the opportunity to participate in 2 ocean scuba dives exploring coral reefs, gaining hands-on experience with unique fish identification challenges. This course emphasizes the role of divers in fish conservation, empowering participants to contribute to conservation efforts through data collection and reporting. Upon completion of a final written exam, divers earn certification as PADI Fish Identification Specialty Divers, equipped with the knowledge and skills to recognize and appreciate the rich diversity of marine life encountered during dives while promoting conservation awareness.
What is Included in the Fish Identification Specialty Course:
Fish Identification Specialty Course includes the Fish Identification Specialty manual, a class on theory with one of our highly trained instructors, 2 ocean scuba dives, dive computer, PADI registration and PADI certification. Our price does not include equipment, however we offer brand new rental equipment if needed. We also offer free Nitrox, if you do not have your Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification we offer the course if you are interested in diving with Nitrox.
