PADI AWARE Shark Conservation in Playa del Carmen

The PADI AWARE Shark Conservation specialty connects shark conservation theory with responsible diving and helps divers understand why sharks matter, what threatens them and how informed divers can support protection.

The Previous Xico Training Format

Xico previously configured this as a two-day specialty with four ocean dives during the local bull shark season, including shark-focused training when seasonal conditions and authorized operations allowed. That structure is preserved for future review, but it is not a current booking offer.

Wildlife Is Never Guaranteed

Bull sharks are wild animals. Any future in-water version of this specialty would still depend on season, shark activity, weather, port status, authorized operations and instructor planning.

When can I take the Shark Conservation course in Playa del Carmen?

Xico is not currently offering the PADI AWARE Shark Conservation course. The previous in-water format was seasonal around the local bull shark period, November 1 through March 31. If Xico reactivates the course, the current instructor, shark-operation, weather and availability requirements will be confirmed before booking.
