Cenote diving feels very different from normal ocean diving, but you do not need cave-diver training for our recreational cavern tours.
Beginner routes remain in the cavern zone, where natural light remains visible and divers follow the established cavern guideline with a qualified guide. Your route is selected according to certification, recent experience, buoyancy and comfort level.
For many certified divers, Chac Mool, Dos Ojos and Chikin-Ha are excellent places to start.

Transportation from Xico Dive Center, the cavern guide, cenote entrance fees, two guided dives, sandwich and refreshments are included.
Beginner routes require Open Water Diver certification or equivalent. Advanced routes require Advanced Open Water or equivalent. Our experienced cenote routes also require excellent buoyancy and previous cenote diving experience.
We keep the groups small with a maximum of four divers per cavern-certified guide.
Yes. Round-trip transportation from Xico Dive Center to the cenotes and back is included.

Rental equipment is not included in the base cenote price. Premium rental gear is available for 500 MXN (≈$29 USD) per person.
Yes. You are welcome to use your own dive equipment. Let us know before the trip so we can prepare the rest of your setup correctly.
Cenote water is usually around 24–26°C / 75–79°F throughout the year. A 3 mm wetsuit is commonly used, although individual thermal comfort varies.
Yes, but some cenotes charge additional camera fees. Cameras must be secured and divers need sufficient buoyancy control to avoid contacting formations or disturbing silt.
The meeting point is at Xico Dive Center on Flamingos Street, between 40th Street North and 42nd Street North, Zazil-Ha, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.
If canceled or modified up to 24 hours before the trip date, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the prepaid deposit will be charged.
No fee applies if the activity is canceled by Xico Dive Center or cannot be rescheduled due to rough weather conditions.
Choose cenotes if you want crystal-clear freshwater, limestone formations, cavern passages and an experience completely different from normal ocean diving.
Choose Playa del Carmen reef diving if you want short boat rides and an easy two-tank ocean dive. Choose Cozumel diving for larger reef structures and drift diving.
If you are diving for several days, our multi-day scuba diving packages combine Playa del Carmen reefs, a cenote diving day and Cozumel Direct.
