Coral Reef Conservation Course in Playa del Carmen

The PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation course is a non-diving specialty for anyone who wants to understand the ecosystem that makes Caribbean diving possible. You do not need a scuba certification to participate.

Understand the Reef Before Trying to Protect It

The course explains how corals live and build reef habitat, why reefs support so much marine life and how bleaching, pollution, physical damage and other pressures affect them.

Turn Knowledge Into Better Ocean Behavior

Do I need to be a diver for the Coral Reef Conservation course?

No. This is a non-diving conservation specialty, so divers, snorkelers and other ocean lovers can participate without a scuba certification.

Are any dives required for Coral Reef Conservation?

No. The standard Xico course is land based and focuses on coral biology, reef threats, responsible behavior and practical conservation actions. You can combine it with diving separately if you want to see local reefs afterward.

What will I learn about coral reefs?

Will Xico run my course if I am the only student?

Yes. Xico can run its courses with one booked student, so you do not have to wait for us to fill a group. Your requested start date still needs instructor and operational confirmation.
