Discover Scuba Diving is Xico's one-day experience for people who want to try scuba without completing a full certification course. The program combines a short theory introduction, confined-water practice and two guided ocean dives.
This is not a scuba certification. Guests who want to become certified can continue with the PADI Open Water Diver course.

No. Discover Scuba Diving is a supervised first-scuba experience, not a scuba certification. It includes the required introduction and confined-water preparation followed by two guided ocean dives. If you want a full certification, the next step is the PADI Open Water Diver course.
Xico’s Discover Scuba Diving program is available from age 10. Participants must be comfortable in the water, complete the required diver medical screening and have the required parent or guardian paperwork when under 18.
Xico’s program includes two guided ocean dives after the theory introduction and confined-water preparation are completed successfully. The exact dive sites and timing depend on student progress, boat operations, port status and conditions.
Continue with the PADI Open Water Diver course. Xico can explain how your first experience relates to the full certification path, but the complete Open Water knowledge development, confined-water requirements, water skills and four open-water training dives still have to be completed to certification standards.
