What to bring

Training schedule: Two-day specialty with four deep training dives. Exact sites and depths are selected according to conditions and the training plan.
Open-water logistics: Training uses local boat operations to suitable deeper Playa del Carmen sites.
Schedule note: Start dates are available subject to instructor availability, student readiness and operational confirmation.
Certification requirements: Training is conducted and evaluated by an appropriately qualified instructor for the agency and course. Certification or recognition is issued only after the applicable course requirements are successfully completed.
Course Details
PADI Deep Diver Course in Playa del Carmen
The PADI Deep Diver specialty is for Advanced divers who want a disciplined approach to depths beyond the normal Open Water range. Across four training dives you learn to plan gas, manage narcosis risk and stay conservative as depth changes the dive.
Four Deep Dives Across Two Days
Repeated deep training gives you more than one attempt at planning, descent control, gas awareness and ascent procedures. Your instructor can refine the plan from dive to dive rather than treating depth as a single Adventure Dive.
Understand What Changes With Depth
Gas consumption increases, no-decompression time shrinks and nitrogen narcosis can affect performance. The course focuses on planning, monitoring and emergency procedures so deeper recreational diving remains deliberate rather than casual.
Prepare for Wrecks and Advanced Dive Goals
Deep certification is useful for deeper reefs and many wreck profiles, and it can support future technical training. It does not authorize decompression or technical diving; the course stays within recreational no-decompression limits.

Questions before you book?
What are the prerequisites for PADI Deep Diver?
For Xico’s current PADI Deep Diver course, we require students to be at least 15 and hold Advanced Open Water Diver or an accepted equivalent. Xico also checks recent experience, depth comfort, medical screening and suitability for the planned deep dives.
How deep does the PADI Deep Diver course qualify me to dive?
The specialty trains recreational deep-diving procedures to a maximum of 40 m / 130 ft within no-decompression recreational limits. Actual training depths depend on conditions, student progress, gas planning and the instructor’s plan.
Should I take Nitrox before Deep Diver?
Nitrox is useful on many recreational profiles, but it is not a license to go deeper and oxygen limits can reduce maximum operating depth. If you want Nitrox training as well, ask Xico how to sequence the courses for your planned dives.
Will Xico run my course if I am the only student?
Yes. Xico can run its courses with one booked student, so you do not have to wait for us to fill a group. Your requested start date still needs instructor and operational confirmation.
Do I need medical clearance for scuba training?
Scuba students complete the required diver medical screening. Depending on your answers, physician approval may be required before in-water training. Any external physician or consultation cost is separate unless a course page explicitly says otherwise.
What happens if weather or a port closure affects course dives?
If weather, sea conditions or a port closure prevent required ocean training, Xico will first try to reschedule the affected training according to safe conditions and availability. Certification is issued only after the required performance requirements are completed.
