Two Iconic Cenote Routes in One Day
Dos Ojos is one of the best-known cenote systems in the Riviera Maya because the recreational cavern dives are visually strong without requiring a deep profile. The Barbie Line and Bat Cave Line show two different sides of the system, so the second tank does not feel like a repeat of the first.
A Strong First Cenote for Certified Divers
With a maximum depth around 10 m / 33 ft, wide natural-light zones, and exceptionally clear water, Dos Ojos is a strong introduction to cavern diving. You still need calm buoyancy and control, but you can focus on the formations, light, and overhead environment rather than managing a deep descent.
Barbie Line and Bat Cave

Is this cave diving?
No. Xico recreational cenote trips are guided cavern dives in the natural-light zone, following a permanent guideline back to the entrance. Full cave diving continues beyond the cavern zone and requires formal technical cave training and specialized equipment.
What is the water temperature in the cenotes?
Riviera Maya cenotes are usually around 24-26 C / 75-79 F year-round. A 3 mm wetsuit is comfortable for many divers, while people who get cold easily may prefer additional exposure protection.
Can I bring a camera on a cenote dive?
Many cenotes allow cameras, but some charge a separate site fee and individual locations can apply different rules. You must keep excellent buoyancy and avoid contact with formations or the bottom. Confirm the rule for your selected route before bringing a camera.
Can I dive a cenote if I have not dived recently?
Tell us your last dive date and comfort level. Cenotes are calm and clear, but they are overhead cavern environments where buoyancy, trim, awareness, and following the guideline matter. A refresher or local reef check dive may be recommended first.
