Requirements for the PADI Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) Specialty Course:
For this course students must be a minimum 12 years of age and have completed the Open Water Diver certification.

The PADI Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) Specialty Course offers a structured exploration of DSMB diving techniques, focusing on safety, navigation, and communication underwater. First, students will receive a PADI Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) manual with more in depth information of what to expect in participating in this course. Students will begin with an introduction to DSMB equipment and its significance in dive safety and navigation. Detailed sessions follow, covering DSMB deployment methods, inflation techniques, and navigation procedures. Students will have the opportunity to participate in 2 ocean scuba dives learning practical application, with hands-on exercises in controlled conditions and simulated dive scenarios. Additionally, students learn emergency procedures related to DSMB use and practice appropriate responses to potential risks. One of our highly trained instructors will guide students throughout the entirety of the course. Upon successful completion of a final assessment, a written exam and practical demonstrations, students will earn certification as PADI Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) Specialty Divers by email from PADI, equipped with the knowledge and skills to enhance their diving experiences safely and responsibly.

The Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) Specialty Course includes the Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) Specialty manual, a class on theory with one of our highly trained instructors, 2 ocean scuba dives, dive computer, the delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) , PADI registration and PADI certification. Our price does not include equipment, however we offer brand new rental equipment if needed. We also offer free Nitrox, if you do not have your Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification we offer the course if you are interested in diving with Nitrox.
