This half-day trip takes you to the beautiful freshwater caves of the Riviera Maya. Cenote Zapote is a beautiful cenote with clear waters where we dive a maximum depth of 30m/98ft. The stalagmites in the cenote look like bells, which is why it’s also known as “Hell’s Bells.” It’s a unique and memorable dive spot. Accompanied by Cenote Kin Ha, a beautiful cenote with clear water also with a maximum depth of 30m/98ft. As you dive, you’ll see stunning rock formations and ancient clam shell fossils. With small groups of just 4 divers, this exclusive cenote diving tour is perfect for certified divers looking for a unique underwater adventure special to this area of Mexico.

What to Expect:

  • 8:30 am: Meet at Xico Dive Center – Check in, complete paperwork, and get fitted for equipment.
  • Drive to the Cenotes – Travel in our truck to the first cenote location.
  • First Dive – Start your adventure at Cenote Zapote.
  • Surface Interval – Enjoy a fresh sandwich and relax in the jungle surroundings.
  • Second Dive – Explore the crystal-clear waters of Cenote Kin Ha.
  • Return to Playa del Carmen – Head back to Playa del Carmen, arriving around 3:30 PM.

What Certification is Required?
You must be an Advanced Open Water certified diver (or higher). Due to the depth (up to 30m/98ft) and overhead environment, strong buoyancy control and air management are required.

What to Bring?

Do I Need to Bring My Own Equipment?
No, rental equipment is available for $500 MXN (~$27.78 USD). However, you are welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer.

What is the water temperature in the cenotes?
The cenotes stay around 24–26°C (75–79°F) year-round, so a 3mm wetsuit is recommended.

Is cenote diving different from ocean diving?
Yes! Cenote diving offers incredible visibility, calm waters, and stunning light effects, but requires excellent buoyancy control.

Can I dive with a camera in a cenote?
Yes, you can dive with a camera, but please note that some cenotes charge an additional camera fee.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
If canceled or modified up to 24 hours before the trip date, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the prepaid deposit will be charged. No fee applies if the activity is canceled by Xico Dive Center or cannot be rescheduled due to rough weather conditions.
