What is cenote diving?
Cenote diving is scuba diving in freshwater sinkholes connected to underground rivers. Our tours are guided cavern dives in the light zone along a permanent guideline, showcasing crystal visibility, limestone formations, and beautiful light beams.
Is this cave diving?
No. Our experiences are recreational cavern dives that remain in the light zone and follow a permanent guideline. Cave diving goes beyond the light zone, requires formal technical training and specialized equipment. If you’re cave-certified and interested in guided cave dives, contact us for cave diving.
How much does cenote diving cost?
Most two-tank cavern tours cost
3700 MXN (≈$200 USD)–4500 MXN (≈$243 USD) per person, depending on the cenote combination. Examples:
Chikin-Ha 3700 MXN (≈$200 USD);

What certification is required?
It depends on the route: Beginners require Open Water or 1-Star; Advanced routes require Advanced Open Water or equivalent; Expert routes require Advanced Open Water or equivalent plus excellent buoyancy and prior cenote dives.
Is cenote diving different from ocean diving?
Yes. Cenotes offer calm water and exceptional visibility, but they are overhead environments. You’ll follow a guide and guideline, maintain good trim and buoyancy, and avoid contact with formations and silt.
What is the water temperature in the cenotes?
The cenotes stay around 24–26°C (75–79°F) year-round, so a 3 mm wetsuit is recommended.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
Rental gear is available for 500 MXN (≈$27 USD) per person. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer.
Can I bring a camera?
Yes. Some cenotes charge additional camera fees. Please secure your camera and maintain excellent buoyancy to protect delicate formations.
