Description of the Discover Scuba Diving:

All the fun and adventure of scuba diving in half a day! This is a first-time beginner’s diving experience you will never forget and will surely want to repeat. Perfect if you just want to try diving or have limited time. This is not a certification course.

As part of your experience, you will briefly cover dive theory, then practice some exercises in our pool, followed by fun diving! The maximum depth is 12m (40ft). This is your chance to try diving, so we’ll do all we can to ensure you enjoy it as much as we do!

Trips are available every day!

What to Expect:

  • 10:30 am: Meet at Xico Dive Center for a friendly introduction and registration.
  • Theory Session: Learn the basics of scuba diving, including safety rules and essential skills.
  • Pool Practice: Get comfortable in the water by practicing fundamental scuba skills in a controlled pool environment.
  • 1:00 pm: Head to the boat for two guided shallow dives in Playa del Carmen’s beautiful reefs.
  • 3:30 pm: Return to the dive center with unforgettable memories.

What is the Price of PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen?

Price is 2,750 MXN per person for the Discover Scuba Diving experience. Together with your instructor, you will go through dive theory, practice a few skills in confined water, and do a full ocean dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

What is the Minimum Age for PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen?
The minimum age for Discover Scuba Diving participants, the same as for the PADI Open Water course, is 10 years old. The program is perfect for children to discover the underwater world and learn about the marine environment.
Do I Need to Know How to Swim?
Yes, basic swimming skills are required for safety reasons.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
If canceled or modified up to 24 hours before the trip date, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the prepaid deposit will be charged. No fee applies if the activity is canceled by Xico Dive Center or cannot be rescheduled due to rough sea conditions or medical reasons (if a valid certificate is provided within 24 hours after no-show or cancellation).
Do I Get a Certification for Discover Scuba Diving?
Doing the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course does not provide a certification, as more training is required for that. The course is an experience program that gives you an introduction to scuba diving. If you enjoy the dive and want to get a scuba certification, you can do the PADI Open Water course. Completing this course will give you a certification to dive independently with a buddy worldwide to a depth of 18 meters.
