Description of the Discover Scuba Diving:
Experience the fun of scuba diving in just half a day! This is a great introduction for beginners and perfect if you’re short on time or just want to try diving. Please note, it’s not a certification course. The day starts with a quick dive theory session, followed by practicing basic skills in our pool. Then, you’ll enjoy two fun dives at a maximum depth of 12m/40ft. The activity runs from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM, giving you a relaxed and exciting dive experience.
Trips are available every day!
What to Expect:
- 10:30 am: Meet at Xico Dive Center for a friendly introduction and registration.
- Theory Class– Learn the basics of scuba diving, including safety rules and essential skills.
- Pool Session – Get comfortable in the water by practicing fundamental scuba skills in a controlled pool environment.
- Boat Ride to Dive Sites – Head out on the boat for a short ride to the local reefs.
- First Dive – Take your first dive into the colorful underwater world and explore the amazing marine life.
- Surface Interval – Relax on the boat with water and cookies.
- Second Dive – Dive into another beautiful reef, discovering more marine life.
- Return to Dive Center – Head back to Playa del Carmen, returning around 3:30 pm
What is the Price of PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen?
Price is $2,750 MXN (~$137.5 USD) per person for the Discover Scuba Diving experience. Together with your instructor, you will go through dive theory, practice a few skills in confined water, and do a full ocean dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

What is the Minimum Age for PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen?
The minimum age for Discover Scuba Diving participants, the same as for the PADI Open Water course, is 10 years old. The program is perfect for children to discover the underwater world and learn about the marine environment.
Do I Need to Know How to Swim?
Yes, basic swimming skills are required for safety reasons.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
If canceled or modified up to 24 hours before the trip date, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the prepaid deposit will be charged. No fee applies if the activity is canceled by Xico Dive Center or cannot be rescheduled due to rough sea conditions or medical reasons (if a valid certificate is provided within 24 hours after no-show or cancellation).
Do I Get a Certification for Discover Scuba Diving?
Doing the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course does not provide a certification, as more training is required for that. The course is an experience program that gives you an introduction to scuba diving. If you enjoy the dive and want to get a scuba certification, you can do the PADI Open Water course. Completing this course will give you a certification to dive independently with a buddy worldwide to a depth of 18 meters.
