The Tern brings Shearwater’s interface and decompression philosophy into a smaller wristwatch-style computer. Its 360 x 360 AMOLED screen is designed for high contrast, while four physical buttons provide direct control without relying on a touchscreen underwater.
It covers common recreational scuba and freediving needs with Air, Nitrox, 3 Gas Nitrox, Gauge and Freedive modes. Bluetooth supports log transfer and firmware updates, and the internal lithium-ion battery charges wirelessly from the included USB-C station. The standard Tern does not include transmitter-based air integration or a digital compass; those functions are the main step up to the Tern TX.
