Diving in Cenote Kin Ha - Xico Dive Center

Diving in Cenote Kin Ha

Puerto Morelos

The Cenote Kin Ha offers divers a unique and captivating underwater experience that feels like entering a mystical underground world. Located near Puerto Morelos, about an hour’s drive from Xico Dive Center, Kin Ha is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and impressive geological formations. The transition from the vibrant surface of the jungle to the submerged world creates an almost magical atmosphere. Divers can reach depths of approximately 98ft/30m and explore stunning stalactites and stalagmites that have evolved over millennia. The cenote features a halocline, a visible layer where freshwater and saltwater meet, enhancing the surreal underwater landscape. Natural light filters through openings in the ceiling, casting mesmerizing light and shadow patterns that add to the charm of the cenote. This interplay of lights and shadows, combined with the serene beauty of the clear waters and lush surrounding vegetation, creates a tranquil escape from the outside world. “Kin Ha,” which translates to “Sun and Water” in the Mayan language, perfectly encapsulates the essence of this natural wonder. Divers will find peace in this serene environment, connect with nature, and uncover the mysteries of this underground world. Cenote Kin Ha is a notable destination for its beautiful underwater formations and the rewarding adventure it offers to those exploring the cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula.
