Course Details

TDI Full Cave Diver in Mexico’s Cenote System

TDI Full Cave is the level where a trained Intro to Cave diver develops the planning, navigation, team discipline and problem-solving needed for full cave diving within the limits of the certification and the training environment.

Eight Cave Dives, Four Training Days

Current TDI standards require eight cave dives, at least 240 minutes of accumulated bottom time and three different sites. Xico schedules the course over four days, matching the current TDI minimum duration while using the Riviera Maya’s varied cave environments to build progression rather than repeating one route.

From Single-Line Foundations to Full Cave Procedures

The course develops advanced dive planning, gas management, navigation choices, line procedures, team protocols and realistic emergency responses. Certification is performance based; completing four calendar days alone does not guarantee certification.

Typical Xico Training Environment

The normal Xico plan uses sites such as Chikin-Ha, Garden of Eden and Minotauro. Exact sites remain an instructor decision and may change for training objectives, access, student progress or conditions.

    Good to Know

    Questions before you book?

What are the prerequisites for TDI Full Cave Diver?

You must be at least 18 and hold TDI Intro to Cave Diver, TDI Mine Diver Level 1 or an accepted equivalent. If decompression dives are incorporated into the training, the applicable TDI Decompression Procedures certification must already be held or completed concurrently. Xico confirms certification, experience, medical screening and equipment configuration before the course.

How much in-water training is included in TDI Full Cave?

Current TDI standards require eight cave dives with at least 240 minutes of accumulated bottom time at three different sites, with at least one site not used during the student’s cavern or introductory cave training. Xico’s Full Cave course is scheduled over four days, the TDI minimum duration for this level.

Will Xico run my course if I am the only student?

Yes. Xico can run its courses with one booked student, so you do not have to wait for us to fill a group. Your requested start date still needs instructor and operational confirmation.

Do I need medical clearance for scuba training?

Scuba students complete the required diver medical screening. Depending on your answers, physician approval may be required before in-water training. Any external physician or consultation cost is separate unless a course page explicitly says otherwise.

Can I choose my course start date?

Send us your preferred start date. Xico will check the appropriate instructor, training schedule and any required training logistics before confirming the course. Start dates are flexible, but a website request is not an instant booking confirmation.
