You’ll learn how to properly clean, maintain, and make minor repairs to your gear like replacing mouthpieces, O-rings, or straps so you can avoid problems before or during your dive. This course is great for anyone who wants to feel more confident and independent when it comes to their dive equipment.

What to Expect:

Theory & Hands-On Workshop – Start with a classroom session at our dive center, where you’ll learn how each piece of scuba gear functions from regulators to BCDs to dive computers. Then, get hands-on with tools and parts as you practice real-world skills like replacing O-rings, fixing fin straps, adjusting hoses, and doing preventative maintenance.
At the end of the day, your instructor will review key takeaways, answer any remaining questions, and award you your PADI Equipment Specialist Certification.

Is certification required?

Yes, you must be at least PADI Scuba Diver to join the PADI Equipment Specialist Course!

Do I need to complete any theory or exams?

No formal exam! You’ll go over some basic ideas, but this course is all about learning through practice and gaining useful knowledge.

What will I learn?

You’ll learn how dive gear works, how to care for it, and how to handle common equipment issues. This includes replacing O-rings, fixing fin straps, cleaning regulators and BCD inflators, managing corrosion, and understanding when gear needs professional servicing.

Is it scary diving at night?

Not at all! It’s calm, quiet, and magical. With guidance from our expert instructors, you’ll feel secure and confident every step of the way.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

If canceled or modified up to 24 hours before the trip date, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the prepaid deposit will be charged. No fee applies if the activity is canceled by Xico Dive Center or cannot be rescheduled due to rough sea conditions or medical reasons (if a valid certificate is provided within 24 hours after no-show or cancellation). Under no circumstances, if there is a cancellation and e-learning has been activated, you will not be refunded your deposit for the e-learning.
